Fenar was born 1981 in Czechoslovakia as an Iraqi refugee. He came to Denmark in 1986. He started photographing at an early age, began shooting documentaries and music videos which led him to make short films.

In 2010 he graduated from the Danish film school Super16 where he made the short film MEGAHEAVY which was selected for the Berlinale and won numerous international awards including a Robert (Danish Oscar).

He went on to direct his feature film debut “Ækte Vare” which was selected for the BFI (London Film Festival) and is nominated for a Robert as best Youth Film of 2013 by the Danish Film Academy.

He is currently working on his next feature film and commercials.
