Marie Kristiansen is a Norwegian director and visual artis. She has directed commercial films for large corporates such as SAS, Nordea, Huawei, DNB, Telia and IF, as well as fashion films for international websites such as Dazed And Confused, i-D, Wallpaper, , Showstudio, . A graduate of Central St Martin (2007) Marie brings an artist’s aesthetics and visual storytelling to all her work and her visual art has been on display in galleries in Oslo, London, Paris and LA.
In 2016 she became the first woman to win Best Video of the Year at the Norwegian music prize “Spellemannsprisen” for the video “Hvite men som pusher 50” for Norwegian rap duo Karpe Diem. An award she was nominated for again in 2017. Her work has also been credited with awards at Gullblyanten in Norway, at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, and her music videos gained acclaim as director of the year by vidflow and bylarm in 2016.
Her first feature film “Exteriors,” which she shot and directed In LA, was screened on cinemas in Oslo in 2010 it was nominated for best debut feature at the Raindance Film Festival in London. Marie has also contributed to several TV-shows in Norway, most notably as director of “Hashtag” on Norwegian national TV channel TV2, which ratings exceeded both new and established comedy shows.
