Flashing Lights
Martin de Thurah’s Unreleased
Kanye West Video
Back in 2007, a Graduation-era Kanye West tapped Martin de Thurah to direct the official music video for his single "Flashing Lights". This collaboration had been in talks a few times before, but scheduling issues had blocked the two from working together.

MDT was coming off the success of his Röyksopp “What Else Is There?”, and Kanye had solidified himself as an international superstar. After discussing the video for six months, production was suddenly moved up as the shoot approached, and location had to switch from Copenhagen to Berlin.

The video was made but after the editing process it was shelved (one of two videos for the song to meet this fate) and was therefore never officially released.

In the end, Spike Jonze’s video for the song was the only official “Flashing Lights” video, but we all know that the internet remains undefeated. Enter: Leaked YouTube uploads.

We of course had nothing to do with this, but as it sometimes goes with these things, Martin’s take on the video eventually ended up online where it is still extremely easy to find.

Now, since this is not a video approved by the artist, we do not recommend that you watch it. Watch something else, go for a walk, whatever, just don’t spend four minutes watching a leak of Martin’s unreleased Flashing Lights video.

You should not be hanging around to see the video, in fact you shouldn’t even be reading this.

Are you gone yet?

Well, if you really have that poor judgment and morals, there’s an embed below. We have nothing to do with it and ask you not to watch it. Here it is.
